Evidence-led skin

We read the studies so you can stop reading the packaging.

Evidence-led skincare, edited down.

Editology is an independent skincare brand and editorial platform for people who want effective products, clearer claims and less noise.

We take one skincare claim at a time, trace it back to the research and explain plainly what the evidence supports, and what it does not.

Small studies stay small. Promising does not mean proven. Marketing is not evidence.

Our first area of focus is the skin people are often left with after using retinoids, acids and other actives: dry, tight, stressed and uncomfortable.

What we are building

Our first product is being developed around one clear brief: helping dry, stressed and active-treated skin feel comfortable and well hydrated.

The exact format, formulation and price are still being researched. We will not pretend those decisions have already been made.

We are sharing what we learn as we develop it.

One useful email a week

A considered edit of one skincare claim, ingredient, product or category question. No hype. No ten-step routines. No pretending a study of forty people settles everything.

We will only use this to send you Editology. Leave whenever you like, in one click.

Questions people ask

What is Editology?

Editology Skin is a UK skincare brand and editorial platform. We examine the evidence behind skincare claims, publish what it genuinely supports, and use those findings to inform the products we develop.

Editorial comes first. Products follow where there is a clear consumer need and a credible reason for us to make something better.

Who is Editology for?

People who care about skincare performance but are tired of exaggerated claims, confusing routines and prestige pricing that is difficult to justify.

Our initial focus is people using retinoids, tretinoin, retinol, exfoliating acids, vitamin C and other active skincare who want their skin to remain comfortable while they pursue results. It is also for anyone who wants greater honesty about what skincare can, and cannot, do.

What product are you making?

Our first product is being developed for skin that feels dry, stressed or uncomfortable, including skin affected by active skincare. Its job will be to support comfort and hydration without unnecessarily complicating the routine.

The final format, formulation, name and price remain in development. We will share more as the research, customer testing and formulation process progresses.

When does Editology launch?

Editology is currently in research and development. We will announce a launch window once formulation and testing are sufficiently advanced to give a credible date. Subscribers receive development updates, testing opportunities and early access first.

Is Editology a dupe brand?

Editology is building evidence-led alternatives to premium skincare. We study leading products to understand the benefits, ingredients, textures and experiences people genuinely value, then use that insight to develop original formulations addressing the same consumer need at a more accessible price.

We do not copy packaging or protected brand assets, and we will not claim that a product is equivalent to another formula without evidence to support it. The aim is not to imitate prestige skincare. It is to question which parts of the prestige experience are worth paying for.

How is Editology different from other skincare brands?

Two things guide us. First, we publish the limitations of the evidence alongside the findings, including when the answer is inconvenient, inconclusive or less exciting than the marketing claim. Second, we develop products around a specific consumer problem rather than creating a large range for the sake of appearing established.

Fewer products. Clearer jobs. Better reasons for each one to exist.

Who is behind Editology?

Editology is independently founded in the United Kingdom and intentionally editorial-led rather than personality-led. The writing, research and quality of the products should make the argument, not the visibility of a founder.

As products move through development, formulation, safety assessment and UK regulatory compliance will be carried out with appropriately qualified professional partners.
